  1. Q: I am a EU citizen, how can I apply and do I have to pay for my studies?

A: EU citizens can study at the University of Gdansk on the same basis as Polish citizens. They should apply to rekrutacja@ug.edu.pl; tel. no: +48 58 523 2531. Studying full-time courses for EU citizens is free of charge.
  2. Q: I am not a Polish citizen, but I have a Polish Charter “Karta Polaka” - how can I apply and do I have to pay for studies?

A: If you have Polish Charter “Karta Polaka” you are treated the same as Polish citizen when studying is concerned. Please apply to rekrutacja@ug.edu.pl; tel. no: +48 58 523 2531. You do not pay for studies.
  3. Q: I am a student at foreign University and I would like to come for students’ exchange, is it possible?

A: If you are a European University Student ask at your University about an exchange program for example Erasmus or contact our Students Exchange Office at bwzs@ug.edu.pl; tel. no: +48 58 523 2442. If you are not a European University Student ask at the Faculty where you are studying about individual agreements they may have. They should check if they have any Agreement with one of our Faculties.
  4. Q: Do you need sworn Polish translation of my documents?

A: Yes, sworn translation into Polish is essential. We strongly recommend you to ask the Polish Embassy or Consulate in your country to do the translation and legalization for you.
  5. Q: Can I apply for scholarship at the University of Gdansk?

A: We do not run any scholarship program for non-EU students at the University of Gdansk. You may ask Polish Consulate in your country if they can propose any Polish government scholarship for you.
  6. Q: If I pay a fee and send all documents, but do not receive a visa and therefore cannot come to study at your University, can I claim my money back?

A: Yes. If it happens that you do not receive a visa, the University of Gdansk will return your tuition fee already paid (minus bank charges) and all documents provided.
  7. Q: Who needs to take the English test and why is it necessary?

A: The test is designed for the candidates who apply for a course conducted in English. It aims to estimate their knowledge of the language to assure that they do not have language-based problems during the course. The candidates for courses conducted in Polish do not need to take the English test, they should, however, be independent users of the Polish language.
  8. Q: If the English test result is not satisfactory, may I nonetheless begin my studies?

A: If you fail the test you may not begin your studies, but we can offer you a 2-semester, paid Intensive Introductory Course For Foreign Students in English (check our offer), after which you may begin your education at our University.
